Fleet racing update

Day four of fleet racing had three races. The first in quite light winds,
second in 10-15 knots and third in 18-20 knots. It was also very hot about 86
degrees.
The kids had a mixed bag of results with Chase getting a bfd in race 3 (hate
those) but he is still looking good in 13 place.
Ceci lies 56, Mikey 75, Benn 96 and Peter 121.
Today it is again very hot with no hail showers forecast.
Hoping for all to have two great races.
Trading has commenced which is causing confusion for us all when we see a BER
tee shirt walk on by when we have just left the 5 kids having a meeting with
Coach Martin.
All are well and looking forward to tonight's party.
Also the Easter bunny left each an Easter egg for them yesterday to celebrate
Good Friday which was very much enjoyed.

Having a great rest day

Zip lining in Brazil

Had a great day yesterday at a remote ranch in the hills outside Porto Alegre. We joined up with Team AHO and left the retreat at 10.30 after a bit of a lay in. Got a little lost on the way as we drove through the hills of Brazil. We started off with zip lining, then a delicious lunch of rice, beef, beans, salad, bread ........ After lunch we then did an obstacle course through the trees. The kids had a competition which Ceci won in 2.13 minutes. We then had a walk through the rainforest looking for monkeys. We heard them but didn't see them. The kids complained a little about doing the walk but within minutes were enjoying all of the new things they saw. Got back to the club at around 7pm to have a quick bite to eat and then back to the retreat for an early night. I think we were all asleep by 10pm

The storm ended and the kids left the dock at 2pm. Winds have dropped off, it
is very grey with storm clouds all around but thunder and lightening has gone.

Launched at 12noon returned at 12.30pm

Due to a storm kids were sent back to shore after only 30mins.
Ceci quote "didn't they look at the radar."
Www.weather.br (?)
Heavy rain now not sure if it is in for the day.

Hoping for a Bermuda Flag to fly tonight

No pressure Chase but it would be awesome to see a Bermuda flag up there!
Martin has just returned from the coaches meeting, thought is another long day
with very light wind. They need at least two races today in order to have a
lay day. Martin has said to put a hold on our zip-lining plans for the lay day
as they are not expecting much action today.

For tomorrow's soccer game Gretchen has volunteered to be goalie............

Long second day on the water

The day was very hot with winds at 5 to 10 knots. Racing commenced at 2pm, three races completed however the third ended at sunset and the sailors arrived back to the club in the dark.

Chase had 2 great races and is now in 4 th, the others had a tough day with Peter having a black flag also. Mikey is in 69th, Ceci 78th, Benn 106 and Peter 135.
Today is is overcast, again very light winds and flights are Ceci, Benn and Peter are blue with Mikey and Chase yellow.  Racing does not seem to start before 2 pm each day as the winds do not build until the afternoon so it makes for a very long day.
